When it comes to innovation, the world has a lot to learn from the Germans. They are the industrial leaders in using technology to empower their workforce and increase their production of high quality products. German innovation starts from their education system that supports a new generation of capable individuals who will run high-powered inventions that save time, money and resources thus making industrial jobs sustainable. German industry and educators understand that innovations are not designed to eliminate jobs – quite to the contrary, innovations can build sustainable industries in a global economy and thus secure jobs.
Reading the headlines, you might think that the most urgent question about national success in innovation and growth is whether the U.S. or China should get the gold medal. The truth is: Germany wins hands down.
Sustaining productivity and supporting employment growth must be the focus of innovation – contrary to the alleged practice in the USA. Societies regardless of nationality must be safe from worries that if everything is automated, jobs will be lost. The transition of innovative systems from the laboratory to the market will happen but it needs government assistance to provide the necessary infrastructure, starting from the educational infrastructure to the destinations of such production – to make this progress a reality!
